EDCI 505: Conclusion

This is my last blog for class. I cannot believe how fast this class went! I learned so many different things and how I can't wait to use them in my future classroom! I never thought I would make my own blog, website or even YouTube video! This has been a really fun class.  I would have never known about glogsters or even symbaloo. Both of these sites will be very useful and i can see myself using them in class. The best thing I learned about was Google Docs. This will make grading very easy and also I can put basically anything into a spreadsheet. I also coach, so making spreadsheets will be very helpful in the future.

I really enjoyed this class and I recommend it to anyone at Ashland or anyone going into education! With the way technology is becoming everyone is going to need to know this information.

Using Pinterest in the classroom

Another blog, another new way to use Technology in the classroom. For class I looked at Pinterest and how we can use it in the classroom. Overall, Pinterest is a great social networking website with great ideas for teachers to use. I think that teachers can use this for finding great lessons and information. Teaches area able to use this at home in order to get creative ideas and materials for their classroom. These ideas can be printed out and brought into the classroom or lesson plans. It allows teachers to use each other for ideas. This can only be a good thing, the more ideas the better. It is a fun way to do something different in the classroom. These conceptions can help generate memorization of content and what is being taught within the classroom. Overall, the possibilities for this website are endless for both students and teachers within education and the classroom.

Spreadsheet/Database

I just recently learned about Google doc's and how I can use them it in the classroom. It's really cool and it will be really useful in the classroom. For class we had to use the spreadsheet and then had to add up scores with the different formulas. It was so easy to use and I cannot wait to use it in my future classroom. Not only can I use it in the classroom but I can also use it in coaching. That's probably my favorite part of this class. Not only am I learning about different things to use in the classroom but I can also use them when I am coaching. I would have never thought of using the Google spreadsheet while I am coaching but I have already began doing so. This class has been really helpful for me already and I can’t wait to see what else we learn. The different assignments and tools we are learning are so cool and would really help me in the classroom

So far in class we have used Symbaloo EDU, and GlogsterEDU. So far I have enjoyed the Glogster the most so far. It was a lot of fun to use and it was easier to use then the Symbaloo EDU. Both I believe will work in the classroom and will be fun ways to use technology in the classroom. I can't wait to see what else I learn in this class and what else I can use in my classroom.

While I was in elementary school the only time we were able to use technology on any sorts was in the computer lab. I believe we had class about 2-3 times a week. These days while I am in the classroom with my mom's pre-k class they are using technology all the time! It blows my mind what the kids can do. My mom uses the smartboard everyday. It's a really cool tool and it allows her students to interact with her as well. They can draw on it and write things. When they are done writing on it, my mom is able to save it and keep it to show her parents.
